Hoifung Poon, PhD

Hoifung Poon is a researcher at Microsoft Research. He received his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Washington. His research interests lie in advancing machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) to help accelerate discovery and support decision making in precision medicine. He leads Project Hanover at Microsoft Research. His past work has been recognized with Best Paper Awards from premier NLP and machine learning venues such as Conference of the North American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics, the Conference of Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing, and the Conference of Uncertainty in AI.
